3 Submission Requirements

These requirements apply to every product submitted to TemplateTrip, regardless of category. Meet all of these before submitting — incomplete submissions will be returned without review.

3.1 Required for every submission:

ZIP: Complete working files in a single ZIP archive.
Title: Unique, descriptive product title.
Desc: Min 300 characters describing what's included.
Images: At least 3 high-quality screenshots.
Demo: Live preview link on stable/fast server.
Docs: Installation/setup guide (required for code).

3.2 File archive requirements:

  • Maximum ZIP file size: 2GB
  • Archive must extract cleanly — no corrupt or password-protected files
  • File/folder names must use clear, descriptive naming (no "untitled" or random strings)
  • All included files must be relevant — no dev artifacts, node_modules, or temp files
  • A changelog.txt or readme.txt must be included at root.
TIP Buyers judge products by the demo and screenshots before they look at anything else. Invest time in your live demo — a polished demo significantly improves conversion rates.

4 Quality Standards

TemplateTrip maintains a curated marketplace. Every product is reviewed against these standards. Products that do not meet them will be rejected with specific feedback — not just a generic decline.

4.1 Design Standards (Themes, Templates, & UI Kits)

  • Contemporary design — not dated or derivative
  • Consistent typography, spacing, and color palette
  • Fully responsive across mobile, tablet, and desktop
  • Cross-browser compatible (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
  • Retina / high-DPI display ready
  • No placeholder "Lorem ipsum" visible in live demo

4.2 Code Standards (Themes, Scripts, Plugins, & SaaS)

  • Clean, well-commented, readable code (not minified)
  • No deprecated functions, methods, or APIs
  • No console errors, PHP warnings, or broken assets
  • No hardcoded credentials, API keys, or sensitive data
  • No obfuscated code (must be readable and editable)
  • Sanitized inputs and escaped outputs for security
4.3 WordPress Requirements

Theme Check clean passing; correct implementation of wp_head()/wp_footer(); translation ready; custom logic housed in plugins.

4.4 Shopify Requirements

Dawn-based theme structure compatibility; Online Store 2.0 (JSON templates); schema options properly labeled; zero unnecessary external HTTP requests.

4.5 HTML/CSS Requirements

W3C valid HTML5/CSS3; zero console errors on load; external library dependency documentation; working mock forms.

4.6 SaaS & App templates

Clean environment documentation (.env.example); functional auth modules; package managers configuration files included.

4.7 AI Tools & Prompt Products

Clear documentation of supported models, prompt limitations, platform prerequisites, and third-party API fee disclosures to buyers.

5 Listing Requirements

5.1 Product Title

Titles must be descriptive, unique, and under 10 words. Avoid keyword stuffing.

Approved Style "Velocity — Shopify Theme for Fashion & Apparel"
Rejected Style "Best Premium Shopify Theme WordPress Responsive eCommerce Store Template 2025"

5.2 Product Description

Must be at least 300 characters, written in English, list key features in an easy-to-scan bullet list, state compatibility details, and declare stock photo exclusions.

5.3 Screenshots & Preview Images

Minimum of 3 crisp screenshots (1440px width preferred). The main preview thumbnail must be 590 × 300px. Stock images must be labeled as "Images not included".

TIP Products with 8+ screenshots and a video walkthrough consistently outperform those with 3 screenshots. More visual evidence = more buyer confidence = more sales.

5.4 Live Demo

  • Required for all themes, templates, and tools.
  • Hosted on stable, fast infrastructure (no free tiers like Netlify free, 000webhost).
  • Accessible without login, hosted on HTTPS, and matching the downloadable product features.

5.5 Tags

Use 5 to 15 relevant tags describing product platform, styling, and use cases. Do not include competitor names or repeat identical keywords.

6 Pricing Guidelines

You set your own price on TemplateTrip. We do not enforce minimum or maximum prices, but we strongly recommend pricing your products in line with their scope and market value.

Product CategorySuggested RangeNotes
Shopify Themes$29 – $129Feature-rich themes with multiple sections command higher prices
WordPress Themes$29 – $99FSE / block themes typically priced lower than page-builder themes
WooCommerce Templates$29 – $89Includes shop, product, cart, and checkout page designs
HTML Templates$15 – $59Multi-page templates command more than single-page landing pages
UI Kits & Design Assets$15 – $79Larger kits and design systems justify higher prices
Code & Scripts$9 – $49Utility and price point depend heavily on scope and complexity
SaaS & App Templates$39 – $199Full-stack starters with auth and DB command premium prices
AI Tools & Prompts$9 – $79Functional tools priced higher than prompt packs alone

Pricing principles:

  • Price based on value delivered to the buyer — not just hours spent building it.
  • Check comparable products on TemplateTrip and competitors before pricing.
  • Offer limited-time discounts from your seller dashboard.
  • Underpricing devalues your work — do not race to the bottom.
IMPORTANT Do not list a product at an artificially inflated price solely to apply a large discount. Misleading pricing is grounds for listing removal.

7 Documentation Requirements

Good documentation reduces support requests, improves buyer satisfaction, and increases your product's star rating. For code-based products, documentation is mandatory. For design assets, it is strongly recommended.

Required (Code-based items)

  • Installation guide & setup steps
  • Configuration and options documentation
  • Detailed software dependencies & minimum versions
  • Demo data import instructions
  • Changelog and version history per release

Strongly Recommended (All items)

  • Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) block
  • Common troubleshooting resolutions
  • Visual screenshot-based setup flows
  • Video walk-through links (YouTube/Vimeo)
  • Format: HTML file, PDF, or hosted web page (English)
TIP Sellers with comprehensive documentation receive significantly fewer support requests and consistently higher buyer ratings. Time invested in docs pays back in reduced support load.

8 Intellectual Property & Licensing

8.1 Ownership

Everything in your product must either be created entirely by you, or commercially licensed for inclusion and resale.

8.2 Allowed Assets
  • Permissive open source libraries (MIT, Apache)
  • Commercial-use stock media (declared)
  • Google Fonts and public domain assets
  • Licensed premium icon sets
8.3 Prohibited Assets
  • Conflicting GPL code inclusions
  • Trademarked brand logos or names
  • Personal-use-only stock elements
  • Scraped, copied, or unlicensed assets

8.4 Declaring assets, 8.5 Retain ownership, & 8.6 Infringement reports

Declare all third-party components inside your documentation. You retain full intellectual property ownership of your products; buyers only purchase a license to use it.

If you detect copyright infringement on the platform, file a complaint directly to [email protected] for prompt removal.

IMPORTANT Submitting a product that contains unlicensed third-party assets is the single most common reason for rejection. Check every included asset before submitting.

9 Support Obligations

Buyers purchase your product expecting it to work. As a seller, you are responsible for providing support within the scope defined on your product listing.

9.1 Minimum Support Window: 6 months of support from date of purchase (declared on product listing).

9.2 What Support Covers:

  • Fixing code bugs and critical product defects
  • Basic installation setup assistance
  • Addressing declared compatibility concerns
  • Explaining how product features work

9.3 What Support Does NOT Cover:

  • Custom modifications or extra custom sections
  • Troubleshooting external plugins/third-party services
  • General hosting server configuration setups
  • Issues caused by buyer files modifications

9.4 Response Time: Response is expected within 2 business days. Unresponsive support statuses may result in demotion or suspension.

9.5 Refund Requests: You have 5 business days to respond or resolve a refund request before escalations.

TIP Sellers who respond to support requests quickly consistently earn higher ratings. A 5-star product with fast support sells far better than a 5-star product with slow support.

10 Seller Conduct

You must NOT:

  • Manipulate ratings, write fake reviews, or solicit paid reviews.
  • Disparage other sellers, products, or the platform.
  • Use misleading marketing copy or fake claims/sales counts.
  • Redirect buyers outside the platform for offsite purchases.
  • Spam/harvest buyer data or impersonate others.

You MUST:

  • Keep product listings up to date and functional.
  • Honor stated support commitments professionally.
  • Maintain respectful, good-faith messaging.
  • Announce updates through the version release system.
  • Keep payout details valid and current.

11 The Review Process

Every product submitted to TemplateTrip is reviewed by our team before it goes live. Here is exactly what happens after you hit submit.

11.1 Review Criteria

Code check, style verification, description validation, demo availability, document inspection, and licensing compliance.

11.2 Timelines

Standard items: 3–5 business days. Complex items (e.g. full-stack SaaS boilerplates): up to 7 business days.

11.4 Rejected Submissions
